Calgary Arts Development Grants Assessors make recommendations for the disbursement of operating and other granting funds to Calgary Arts Development staff, who in turn provide these recommendations to the Calgary Arts Development Board of Directors. In making recommendations, assessors follow an assessment process that considers established criteria for each assessed grant program.

Call for Assessors (on-going):
Calgary Arts Development is seeking nominations of arts sector peers and community members to serve as volunteer assessors for our community investment programs. We invest in more than 120 arts organizations and dozens of individual artists on behalf of The City of Calgary.
This is an opportunity for artists, cultural workers and enthusiastic audience members of all artistic disciplines to enhance their understanding of and contribution to Calgary's vibrant arts sector.
Strong candidates will bring sector expertise, professional experience and an interest in participating in an integrated arts investment process guided by artistic and public impact outcomes. They will also be keen to engage in thoughtful dialogue about the value of arts and culture in our lives and our city.
Sector Peers - artist and arts professionals who possess professional experience and knowledge directly relevant to the arts sector. Arts
organizations are encouraged to nominate un-conflicted peers (persons
not under contract with or potential in the next year to be contracted
by the organization) that they feel have a knowledge of their
organization and their discipline.
Community Members - Calgarians with an appreciation for the arts (any discipline) that actively attend arts performances and presentations. Community members should possess skills that are transferable to the non-profit arts sector including but not limited to: Non-Profit Board Governance, Organizational Management, Business Planning and Project Management, Marketing and Communications, Event Production, Investment and Resource Development, Community and Government Relations, and Design/Creation within the broader creative industries.
