School of Alberta Ballet: Marketing Coordinator

The School of Alberta Ballet is currently seeking an enthusiastic and initiative-seeking Marketing
Coordinator to work closely with our Managing Director and Development Officer to promote the
programs of the School as well as the brand of the School itself. The ideal candidate will bring with them
a strong background in Marketing, including both advertising and publicity. The School of Alberta Ballet
possesses a small administrative team in a highly non-bureaucratic environment and we work closely with
both the ballet and the academic teachers to make our initiatives a reality. This environment provides us
with both a high degree of creativity and freedom but also an equally high level of responsibility,
accountability and organization to ensure that we succeed at every level of the School. If you think you
have the creativity, initiative and background in marketing, we would love to hear form you.

• Strategize and implement advertising, working with contracted graphic designer to produce
marketing materials for print, media and web
• Writing promotional literature for diverse materials, promoting different School programs, faculty,
partnerships and the School’s brand, including editing/proofreading of final marketing materials.
• Conducting market research
• Liaising with media, pitching story possibilities
• Develop future marketing strategies for new programs in conjunction with Alberta Ballet’s 5-Year
Strategic Plan
• Arranging and attending strategic public events to increase School’s networking capabilities
• Developing key networks within the media and arts or community groups, attending events and
community functions in effort to build the name and reputation of the School
• Social Media development and website management
• Assist with fundraising activities and School special events
• Assist with Alberta Ballet performances and public events as required
• Assist with providing support to volunteers

• A marketing or related degree and/or equivalent related experience
• Experience in general office practices and procedures
• Dynamic and friendly personality
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Proven teamwork abilities
• A strong attention to detail, thoroughness, quality and standards
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Sound time-management and prioritization skills
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media tools and web management software

The Marketing Coordinator will report directly to the Managing Director, School of Alberta Ballet. The
Marketing Coordinator will work in support of and collaboratively with other staff members, teachers,
suppliers and volunteers.
