Slam Poets Need, Saturday, August 28th
- Posted by AmberJoyAlexander on August 12th, 2010
Beyond Closed Doors Productions, an emerging social justice theatre company, is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, August 28th at 8pm at Calgary’s "The Auburn" and we are in need of four slam poets who can prepare three separate pieces, each no longer than three minutes a piece.
Poets will be needed from 7:30pm-10:30pm.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Beyond Closed Doors upcoming show, "Heterophobia" which is a black comedy exploring the current issues of sexual discrimination in our society.
We are hoping to find three artists who will volunteer their time and talent, and we are willing to offer them a contra deal including free tickets to our upcoming show and ad space in our programs (over 700 printed).
This would be an excellent opportunity for new artists to gain exposure to Calgary’s theatre scene.
