Down & Dirty Painting and Drumming Workshop
Saturday, March 20, 2010
11:30am to 5pm
Artpoint Gallery & Studios
Facilitator: Jacqulynn Mulyk
www.burstandbloom.caDavid Thaiw will lead the day with 2 hrs of drumming. He introduces his audience to the very unique instruments from Africa and retells the wonderful folk stories that have been handed down for centuries. His performance, which includes hands on drumming activities, is an exciting, colourful and informative show.
Jacqulynn Mulyk, after lunch, will guide participants through core expression painting. We will work through the misconceptions of creativity, learn how intuitive painting can be applied to all artistic endeavours and how to overcome creative blocks. We will be using Tempera paint. You do not have to be a painter or a drummer to get full value from this workshop.
All ages are welcome. We will have a babysitter available for the wee ones during the drumming. Then my wonderful assistant will lead the children on their own painting exploration at the special painting table for children under 12.
