Emerging Event Program

The goal of the Emerging Event Program is to support the development of new and emerging Calgary festivals and events, resulting in an increased vitality to the city.

There are three phases to the application process:

  • Phase One: Pre-Screen Application (Online Form)
  • Phase Two: Meeting with Assessment Panel
  • Phase Three: Submission of Full Application (Online Form)

This program has a large pool of potential applicants, and limited funds. It is likely that only a small percentage of applicants will be selected to move past the Pre-Screen Phase (anticipated to be approximately 10 - 15% of the total number of applications). Not being selected to move past the Pre-Screen is a reflection of the competition within the program and not the general quality of the applicant's event. Applications that move past the Pre-Screen Phase will be those whose proposed festival or event most strongly matches the program criteria, relative to other applicants.
 
Final amounts awarded will be based on the scope of the initiative and the availability of funds. Successful applicants may not necessarily be awarded the full amount requested or for which they are eligible.
