Calgarypedia ‘Best of Calgary' Contest Details
As part of the launch of Calgarypedia (www.calgarypedia.com), a groundbreaking online initiative to engage and connect Calgarians, and a new social media presence for Calgary, Calgary Economic Development would like to challenge Calgarians to submit their ‘Best of Calgary' photos and videos for a chance to win a one-of-a-kind ‘Experience Calgary' prize package including a night at Hotel Arts, dinner at Olives Restaurant, tickets to Theatre Calgary and much more!
Calgarypedia is a wiki-based website developed by Calgary Economic Development (CED) and will serve as a platform for Calgarians to communicate about their own city. From the different organizations this city has to all the different activities available, to events, history and stories about our great city.
Here's how to enter the contest:
1. Your submission pieces (photos and/or videos) must exist somewhere on the internet so that you may link to them on the Calgarypedia site. This can be anywhere, including, but not limited to: YouTube, Flickr, Vimeo, MySpace, Facebook, a blog site, your own website, your company website etc.
2. Your online videos or photos MUST be tagged with the name ‘ThinkCalgary', to identify it as part of the Calgarypedia project. Create an account on Calgarypedia (see the ‘how to contribute' page on the homepage). You MUST create an account on Calgarypedia in order to post content there and you MUST submit your email address so we can contact you if you win. Once you have created an account, go to the ‘Best of' page and create an external link on the photo or video page to your entry. In addition to creating this link so our judges can view your entry, you must include your name and a caption which explains why this submission demonstrates your ‘Best of Calgary' photo or video and when and where it was created.
3. Fellow Calgarians and our judging panel will then evaluate your submissions with captions via the links on the ‘Best of' page on Calgarypedia, and determine who will win our grand prize ‘Experience Calgary' package.
Important Notes:- Calgarypedia does not support the upload of photos or video directly on to the site so your contest submissions must be visible online elsewhere and linked to the contest page under ‘Best of' on Calgarypedia.
- Any content you submit for the contest, must have been created by YOU. It cannot be borrowed or purchased from someone else.
- An individual may enter no more than one submission for each of the two categories.
