The Canada Council for the Arts is Hiring in Alberta

In May, 2007 the Canada Council announced the Alberta Creative Development Initiative, the a new $6 million grant program for Alberta arts organizations and artists in partnership with the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Calgary Arts Development and the Edmonton Arts Council. To support this program, and to increase the participation of Albertans and Western Canada in Canada Council programs, the Council is hiring a Program Officer for Western Canada. This Program Officer will be based in Edmonton with extensive travel to Calgary and throughout the Province.
Under the direct supervision of a Section Head in the Arts Division, assists the Canada Council in the implementation of an initiative designed to increase support for professional artists, arts groups, and arts organizations in Western Canada with a focus on Alberta. The incumbent provides information services and support to the arts community in Western Canada including Aboriginal, culturally diverse, and francophone communities. S/he manages a program of assistance for individual artists, arts groups and arts organizations according to established policies and procedures and liaises between the Canada Council and the arts community in Western Canada, as well as with the Council’s partners in those provinces.
