Job Posting: Summer Marketing Assistant
The EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts is a not-for-profit charitable organization that welcomes over 400,000 Calgarians annually into our facility. We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and inclusive team player to fill the full-time temporary position of Summer Marketing Assistant. Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Development, the Summer Marketing Assistant provides support to EPCOR CENTRE’s Marketing team. General duties include (but are not limited to):
- Coordinate and host EPCOR CENTRE events, such as season launch and EPCOR CENTRE presence at festivals, trade fairs and other events
- Assist Communications Coordinator with researching artists and writing press releases for 2008-08 music and arts education programs
- Develop an EPCOR CENTRE media kit
- Collect and input patron data
- Assist Marketing Coordinator with media clippings and mail-outs of programming brochures
- Provide Reception relief
- Provide general administrative assistance to Marketing and Communications team, including photographing EPCOR CENTRE internal and external events
The Summer Marketing Assistant is part of a team that provides support to various EPCOR CENTRE departments. Strong written and oral communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once are key requirements for this position.
Applicants should be post-secondary students in the field of marketing, communications or public relations and should have comfort with Microsoft Office and graphic design software. The successful candidate will have an interest in the arts and an appreciation for the role of culture in a vibrant community.
This paid position has a 40-hour work week for a 10-week term from mid-June to the end of August. Some weekend work required.
